For nearly twenty years, The Year Ahead Divination has been one of my most anticipated offerings.

This divination follows a potent divinatory structure and is crafted specifically for you, in direct conversation with the contours of your life at the turn of the new year.

For this offering every year, I design a new divinatory structure—a kind of oracular compass—to help you cross the threshold into the coming cycle with clarity, direction, and actionable strategies. This work is potent, rigorous, and rooted in compassionate, long-term practice. The 2026 divination theme is: Clear | Claim | Create | Center.

This divination is designed to reveal the energetic architecture of your year ahead while speaking to what needs to be cleared, what wants to be claimed, and where your energy is being called. It concludes with your personal tarot card of the year, a North Star to accompany you through the year’s unfolding mystery.

Sliding scale: $160 – $220

This divination is offered on a sliding scale to keep the work accessible while honoring the labor, time, and depth of this practice. If you are able, paying at the higher end directly supports my capacity to continue offering sliding scale. Paying at the level you can is part of how we hold an economy of equity, reciprocity, and care. Thank you for supporting this model!

The 2026 Year Ahead Divination Structure

Part I: Clear

In the opening phase of the divination, we turn toward what needs to be cleared and released so that your life can move with greater depth, clarity, and voltage in the year ahead.

We’ll consider:

  • What stories must be let go so you can turn toward a more attuned, aligned, fully alive version of yourself

  • What habits, patterns, beliefs, or tendencies keep you circling the same wound-spots rather than moving into more vital rhythms

  • What can be cleared off the (altar) table (so to speak), so that there is space for new blessings to land and root

Part II: Claim

Next, we’ll consider what you need to claim in yourself and in your life as you move into the new year.

Claiming your most deeply-felt life begins when you stop abandoning yourself in small and big ways. It is to practice standing inside your unmetabolized truths until they become legible and undeniable. Claiming is where you choose accuracy over habit and presence over performance. It returns you to your own authority.

We’ll consider:

  • What inner truths are ready to be acknowledged

  • What inner capacity or strength wants to be claimed openly

  • What aspect of your life invites you to stand in your clarity rather than orbit around it

  • What inner directive is asking for your full commitment in the year ahead

Part III: Create

Creation is an act of devotion. It is choosing what you will craft with intention and care. In the final portion of your divination, we’ll ask where your energy is being called in the year ahead—this is your directive for where to invest your attention and resources.

We’ll consider:

  • What wants to be dreamed, built, or brought into form

  • What deserves your time, your attention, your resources

  • What structure or practice will give your life integrity and momentum

Part IV: Center

I’ll conclude your custom divination by sharing your tarot card of the year, what I call your North Star card. It reveals the central theme shaping your year ahead and offers a point of orientation when other signals feel diffuse. This card becomes your through-line, the steady directive you can return to as the year unfolds.

How an Asynchronous Divination Session Works

In an Asynchronous Divination Session, you don’t need to be present via Zoom, phone, or in person. Instead, I record your session in real time, providing you with an audio file in an easy to download and save format.

As part of your booking process, you’ll complete an online check-in form where you will share the questions and concerns you’d like me to address during your session.

Your divination will be delivered to you via email by midnight (Pacific Time) on your scheduled session date. All sessions are completely confidential.

    Nearly twenty years ago, I began offering asynchronous sessions to accommodate clients in a range of time zones. I didn’t want geography or scheduling constraints to limit access to meaningful divination work, so I developed a signature remote style designed to be just as potent, insightful, and transformative as a live session.

    I love working this way. Asynchronous sessions allow me to go deep, tuning in with focus and care. The experience is immersive and personal, though the tone differs from a live Zoom session, where real-time conversation and shared energy also shape the exchange. If you're unsure about committing to a live session, this can be a meaningful and accessible place to begin.

  • Don’t worry—your questions can be simple and direct, or more layered and exploratory.

    There’s no right or wrong way to ask your questions.

    The process of forming your questions can be a meaningful first step toward clarity.

  • Not a techy? Don’t worry—neither am I! That’s why I’ve kept this process as simple as possible. After I complete your divination, I’ll email you a link—just click the link to download your file and save it to your device. That’s it.

  • Yes. Some questions call for sustained focus. Ongoing sessions allow us to go deeper, observe patterns, and work toward meaningful, grounded progress.   • At Four Queens Divinaiton, we only work with individuals who are 21 and older.

  • A diviner’s integrity and reputation is everything. Confidentiality isn’t just a courtesy; it’s a cornerstone of my practice.

    I store your recordings through a professional grade We Transfer account. WeTransfer is a file-sharing service that allows large files to be sent quickly and easily. Most importantly, files are transferred via secure, encrypted connections and are only accessible through unique, time-limited download links. It’s widely used by professionals across industries for its simplicity, reliability, and security. Your recording will be automatically deleted from We Transfer after three months. If you'd like to revisit it in the future, be sure to download and save it to your device.

    For public figures or high-profile clients, I am experienced in working under non-disclosure agreements and am happy to discuss those terms.

  • Refunds are not issued once a session, class, or service has taken place.

    If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are not eligible for a refund, except in the case of an emergency, in which case, please do reach out and we’ll make the appropriate arrangements.

About Selah

Selah Saterstrom is a writer and diviner who practices a Southern family-style of card reading and for nearly thirty years, she has offered divinatory guidance within her communities. She is the author of five books, including Ideal Suggestions: Essays in Divinatory Poetics, which has garnered widespread acclaim. A respected consultant and educator, she teaches, lectures, and facilitates workshops and seminars across the United States and internationally. With Kristen E. Nelson, she co-founded Four Queens Divination and co-hosts The Janky Church Podcast. At the heart of Selah’s work is the belief that divination and radical creativity are liberation practices. She lives on Vashon Island in the Pacific Northwest with her wife and daughter.
